That Photograph
The giant rock emerges, ghost-like, from the mountain mist as the river's water swirls around it. But beware: the Peter Dombrovskis photo Morning Mist, Rock Island Bend is more than just a photo. It's a political icon, a call to arms to what was -- in the 1980s -- Australia's nascent environmental movement. Terry Lane examines the story behind Australia's most politically persuasive photograph. [From Big Ideas: a ABC Radio National program.]
